Autism Acceptance Week

This week is Autism Acceptance week, the move from ‘awareness’ to ‘acceptance’ is an important one. Taking a step from having an awareness of something, to being accepting of everyone’s differences is vital in society.

Autism is very personal to me. My own son received a diagnosis of autism when he was 8 years old, and I received a diagnosis myself a few years ago.

Our journey has been one of frustration, anxiety and challenge. From my own experiences in school and being a teenager, and the experiences of being a mum to my son, and the frustrations around systems and support.
